Brent McMahon Biography


Olympian Triathlete

·        Brent is currently striving towards competing for a medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics

·        Brent competed at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games as well as the 2003/2007 Pan American Games and 2006 Commonwealth Games

·        One of only two Canadian male triathletes to earn a medal at a major games event and attend an Olympics

·        Canadian Elite National team member for past 7 years

West Coast Developed Athlete

·        Brent has competed in triathlon and multisport in Victoria and Vancouver since he was 10 years old

·        He has been coached by LifeSport founder Lance Watson for the last 10 years

·        Competes in the LifeSport Subaru Triathlon Series sprint events and community run and triathlon events throughout BC and Canada

Offroad and Long Distance Triathlon

·        Brent’s multisport talents have crossed over to the off road triathlon world with a Bronze medal at the 2005 Xterra World Championships and multiple regional championship wins

·        He plans to return to off road triathlon to claim a World Champioship title

·        After achieving his Olympic goals Brent plans to race half ironman Subaru Lifesport Series and non drafting racing throughout Canada and the US

  • Focused on becoming the best athlete he can in a range of multisport disciplines with his eyes set on a medal at the Olympic Games

After his career as a competitive athlete Brent plans to stay involved by doing team management and organization with Triathlon Canada.  Brent will also continue his passion for coaching and athlete development.
